On the eve of the Golden jubilee Coronation Ceremony of Queen
Victoria in 1887, it was contemplated to establish few museums in
the then British Empire, Bezawada also found a place in the list.
The foundation stone for the museum was laid on June 20, 1887 under
the auspices of Robert Sewell, the then Krishna district Collector.
